Good call. David had this craving for egg rolls and went food shopping with his mother, arriving home with *Jewish* egg rolls. They were awful. I had one. He ate the rest and had the worst case of food poisoning I've ever seen.

You might be tasting cilantro. There are those of us who are either allergic to it or have some genetic issue with it and for us, it tastes soapy, and can ruin dishes with the permeating sudsiness it calls to mind.

I'm one of those people Dreama mentions. I can't stand the taste of cilantro/coriander. It does have a very soapy flavour to it, and it has a way of sneaking into your sinuses and hanging out there far longer than it really ought to.
