How's about root celery ?
Stringy in the top, and bigger than a turnip in the lower regions, that baby has everything going for it.

This could breed a whole new Self-defense class sketch.

I prefer tying a head scarf to a padlock. This causes massive damage to a person's head and has the added benefit of not making any sense when disassembled. For instance: "the only questionable object discovered on the assailant was a bloody padlock." Interestingly enough, in America there is actually a name for this weapon: a "Smiley". In case you want to know about it, it has origins in it's use by squatters when it was hooked on the end of a chain (San Francisco), and later by gutter-punks in a different form using a scarf instead of a chain, because it's lighter to use a scarf. And that's my short history lesson on American ingenuity for you.

My mother and I may be the only ones on the planet, but we've actually devised a quite good way of cooking and eating canned lima beans. It involves minced garlic in a little oil, and canned tomatoes.
I recall you and tomatoes aren't on the best of terms, but hopefully there's still time to patch up your relationship with limas.
